a life aquatic

Monday, July 7, 2014

Hey you guys.

Jack can swim.

Like, he goes underwater and swims to the steps.  He can dive down and grab toys.  He uses his arms and legs in appropriate motions to move through the water.

He's pretty psyched about it.

We're pretty psyched about it, too.

You can't NOT swim when you grow up in Texas.  It's hotter than hell.   Until you are old enough to drink frozen margaritas, swimming is pretty much the best way to cool off.  (Even when you're an adult, swimming *while* drinking a margarita is pretty great.)

On a related note, Jack is now seriously grown up.  He's 4 and a half.  He does very four and a half year old things like: strolling through the kitchen to the pantry and grabbing a snack.  Or, opening the fridge, grabbing two carrots, making the dogs sit, and rewarding them with the carrots as a treat.  (Our dogs love carrots.)

Also, his current career aspirations are to "feed Sawyer from a bottle" and "go swimming."

I don't blame him one bit.

Hope you stroll somewhere for a snack today.

Talk soon,
Heather

My last entry was remiss because I failed to post this cute picture of  Jack and I in the pool.  As the mama, I find myself holding the camera a lot, rather than on the other side of the lens.  Might have to change that a bit, as I love this picture, and pics of me and Jack in general!

Hope this finds you well.

Jack had his first experience in the pool about a month ago!  I'm just remiss in posting until now.  But I think these are too cute not to share.

He liked it.  He kicked and seemed happy.  And Jack thought it was cool, too.

Ha ha.  And for those of you who haven't seen Durel's tattoo, well, here you go!

Hope this finds you well, and having a good weekend!

Back at the Pool

Wednesday, May 26, 2010

Last weekend, Jack visited his grandparents in Houston.  Durel and I obligingly packed up the truck with Pablo, Lucy, and half of the contents of our home to make this trip possible.

While in Houston, Jack enjoyed lounging by the pool, as on previous visits.  Ever vigilant about sun exposure, he wore sunscreen and his favorite hat.

Summer is definitely on its way to Texas!

Hope this finds you well,
Heather
