Jack's Emerging Style

Thursday, July 8, 2010

One of the things I hadn't anticipated is how much fun it is to dress your baby.  Listen, he can't argue right now or tell me that I'm not cool, so the sky's the limit for kiddie fashion.

And evidently, the sky is the limit.  I found something today that completely blew me away.  In a bad way.  You heard it here first -- Jack will not be wearing things like this:

Though I shudder to think of kiddie models wearing these, I need to make sure you realize that this is Ed Hardy gear in infant and toddler sizes.  Woah.

Never one to see just one side of an argument, I must present the flip side of this fashion coin.  For those who choose to deck their babies out in Ed Hardy, this is probably a specter of horror:

I mean, it's smocking.  But guess what?  I LOVE IT.  I think it's precious and adorable.

Granted, it's not for every day.  So, in the spirit of compromise, I leave you with these.  Can't we all just get along?

Hope this finds you well.  And not dressing your baby in Ed Hardy.

  2. Um noooooo Ed Hardy. That'd be like a baby wearing Juicy. Puke. But I do love the last three :)

  3. I mean -- dressing your baby in Ed Hardy is like taking your baby to Sixth Street. Okay, maybe not that bad, but that's how it makes me feel. Yay for smocking!

  4. When I first scanned the blog entry for today, my heart skipped a beat when I thought you had bought the Ed Hardy for Jack. Then I read the post and I am so happy to see that I do, in fact, know you well! XOXO Babies need smocking and seersucker, not fake airbrushing and skulls.

  5. you're crack'n me up over here hahaha! And i agree with the NO Ed Hardy but more because of the price than the skulls but definitely the skull issue is a very close second on the list of "NO Ed Hardy for Infants"

  6. Oh geez, when I first saw the title of this blog and saw those Ed Hardy shorts (swim trunks?), I kind of thought to myself, "Wow... I don't know if I can be friends with Heather."

Thank goodness you were making fun of Ed Hardy clothes, and not loving them! Friendship restored!! :-)
