No, I haven't been waiting for Jack to update the blog on his own. Sorry about the delay. Consider it time to realize how much you missed having cute pictures of Jack in your life. (Too much?)
Seriously, though, one of the good things that happened while I haven't been posting is that we visited with some of our dearest friends in the whole universe, the Kaisers from Chicago. Lainie and I survived law school together, while Durel and David survived Lainie and I surviving law school together. From that crucible, could stronger bonds be forged? We think not.
I remember when Lainie was pregnant. She was radiant, happy, round, and seemed to have her proverbial prenatal shit together. It seemed fantastical to me, and like something that I would do ... someday. But then, presto chango, I was knocked up before her little bundle of joy had arrived.
Since then, we've both had precious boys, and now we're determined to make them as good of friends as we are.
So far, so good:
Beckett (who also answers to Beck and Bex, and might answer to Boogerbutt if you say it right), is teaching Jack a few things.
"See, Jack, you've got to get out of the Bumbo chair. Once you're walking, you really run the show."
Beckett can teach Jack a few things about being the guest of honor at a smashing first birthday party, case in point:
And we all learned how fun it is to have dear friends, babies around the same age, and a good chance to hang out and catch up:
Ah, good stuff. Hope this finds you well and enjoying your own good stuff this weekend.
